Kevin Williams
Founder & CIO | CA(SA)
Kevin founded Bateleur Capital in 2004 and has been involved in South African financial markets since 1996. Prior to founding Bateleur Capital, Kevin worked on the sell side for various international investment banks, including UBS and Credit Suisse.
COO | CA(SA)
Mark has been with Bateleur for 18 years, having joined in 2007. Prior to Bateleur, Mark spent nine years with British Airways in London, Hong Kong and the Isle of Man in various financial controller roles. With many years of experience in analysis, controls and compliance, Mark is responsible for the operations of the business.

Charl has been involved in South African financial markets since 2006 and joined Bateleur Capital in 2008. Prior to Bateleur Capital he was at Imalivest, a start-up hedge fund and licensed financial service provider.
Head of Legal and Compliance
Leeza joined Bateleur Capital in 2014. Prior to this, Leeza worked in legal & compliance for 11 years at Allan Gray and Coronation Fund Managers. Leeza is an Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, an approved compliance officer with the FSCA and a member of the Compliance Institute of South Africa.

Charl Gous
Portfolio Manager | CFA
Charl has been involved in South African financial markets since 2006 and joined Bateleur Capital in 2008. Prior to Bateleur Capital he was at Imalivest, a start-up hedge fund and licensed financial service provider.
Warren Riley
Portfolio Manager | CFA
Warren joined Bateleur Capital in 2016 and became a portfolio manager in 2018. He has been in the investment industry since 2006, most recently as Head of Investments at a private wealth firm. Before this he was an analyst and portfolio manager at Cadence Capital and business analyst at Allan Gray.
Bheki Mthethwa
Portfolio Manager
Bheki was awarded the Bateleur Capital Foundation bursary in 2015 and joined the Investment Team full time at the beginning of 2018 after obtaining his Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town. He became a portfolio manager in 2022 and has passed CFA level 2.
Ryan de Kock
Portfolio Manager | CFA
Ryan started his career in the investment industry in 2011, working at the likes of Prescient and StatPro. He joined Bateleur Capital in 2023 and became a portfolio manager in 2024. He joined from Stonehage Fleming where he had been working as an Investment Analyst since 2016.
De Wet Schutte
Investment Analyst
De Wet joined Bateleur capital in 2018, bringing 11 years’ worth of sell side experience as a research analyst at Avior Capital Markets covering segments of the consumer sector, as well as various investment holding companies.
Zakhele Zondi
Investment Analyst
Zakhele was awarded the Bateleur Capital Foundation bursary in 2022 and joined the Investment Team full time in 2023. He obtained his BCom Investment Management degree from Stellenbosch University and has passed CFA level 1.
Gerhard Janse van Vuuren
Investment Analyst | CFA
Gerhard joined Bateleur Capital in January 2025. He joined from Flagship Asset Management where he had been working as a Global Equity Analyst since 2022. Gerhard obtained his Honours degree in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Christine Roeber
Graduate Programme
Christine joined the Investment Team full time as part of the Bateleur Graduate programme in 2024. She completed her undergraduate degree at Rhodes University and went on to obtain her Master of Commerce in Financial Markets. Christine is a Golden Key Society Member and Deans Merit List awardee.
Thabo Mbatha
Graduate Programme
Thabo was awarded the Bateleur Capital Foundation bursary in 2023 and joined the Investment Team full time in January 2025. He obtained his Business Science degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town where he was on the Dean’s List as well as a Golden Key society member. He has passed CFA level 1.

Amanda van Zyl
Head of Operations | CGMA
Since joining Bateleur in 2011, Amanda has fulfilled various roles in the business. Originally a Fund Accountant, Amanda now oversees the daily operations. She is also Trustee of the Bateleur Capital Foundation Trust. With her friendly nature and enthusiasm for business operations and efficiency, Amanda brings a strong set of capabilities to the business and our clients alike.
Taryn Hamid
Financial Manager | PA(SA)
Taryn joined Bateleur in 2014. Prior to this, Taryn spent eight years at the Public Investment Corporation as a Management Accountant. She has a B.Com in Financial Management and is a qualified Professional Accountant (SA).
Augustine Ngwane
Operations Manager | CA(SA)
Augustine joined Bateleur Capital in May 2025 after completing her articles at Deloitte and her secondment in Luxembourg. Prior to that, Augustine received her B.Com Accounting degree from Stellenbosch University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from UNISA.

Vuyo joined Bateleur Capital in April 2023 and is the warm smile that will greet you upon arrival at our offices. No task is too big or small for Vuyo to take care of.
Caylin Korff
Head of Distribution
Caylin joined Bateleur Capital in March 2025 from J.P. Morgan where she was an Equity Sales Trader. Prior to this, Caylin worked at Bank of America in London on the specialist sales team covering the European Consumer sector. She has a B.Com Investment Management degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
